We were celebrating on Christmas Eve at the Billingsley's, opening presents with Stephanie, Ashish, Debbie, Barry, and Shirley, when Jen announced, "I think my water just broke."
This was just before 10pm the night before Christmas.
Off to our house for Jen to take a quick shower and pack our bags, and then head off to Scripps in La Jolla to meet with Dr. Greenberg. She recommended we get ready for a C-section
We were both happily surprised that the actual doctor we'd been seeing all along was on call to deliver. Our advice if you want babies on 12/25 is to make sure you have a Jewish doctor.
Dr. Greenberg and the rest of the staff (seemed like there were enough people in the room to field a football team) did a great job for us.
So we are so happy to introduce you to the world's 6,692,030,278th and 6,692,030,279th miracles.
Anjali Grace Bhavnani was born at 1:06am and Connor Samir Bhavnani was born at 1:08am on 12/25/09. Anjali weighed in at 5 lbs. and 16" inches and Connor 5 lbs. 6 oz. and 17.3"

At our checkup this week, just a quick ultrasound and a Q&A session with the doctor. My favorite part of the appointment? The doc is measuring my belly and she says, "you must be REALLY uncomfortable." Um, yeah.
However, other than being uncomfortable, I'm healthy and the babies are healthy - yay! We're expecting to deliver in January, but with twins you never know...
At the ultrasound today, we found out that both babies are about 4 and 1/4 pounds each... growing right as they should be. I'm getting more and more uncomfortable, and the doc says that will continue until I give birth. We're happy that the pregnancy is going so well!
Below are pictures from the ultrasound... as a reminder, baby A is the girl and baby B is the boy.
